VHSoft Sponsors Construction IT Research Center

Yau Lee Construction Limited, together with VHSoft Technologies have sponsored the establishment of the Center for Computer-Aided Construction Engineering (CCCE) at the Department of Building and Real Estate of Hong Kong Polytechnic University, aiming to encourage the application and development of construction information technology.

CCCE specializes in the development of construction information technology as well as providing related consultation services. Not only such endeavors have helped to enhance the operation efficiency and productivity of construction industry in Hong Kong, China and Asian countries, but also provided training to many construction professionals. To further improve the performance of research works, CCCE maintains cooperative relationship with a wide range of research institutions from Hong Kong and worldwide so as to better answer the demands of the industry and avoid waste of resources.

As Mr. Conrad Wong, CEO of VHSoft Technologies Co., Ltd. and vice Chairman of Yau Lee Holdings Limited, pointed out, "The application of information technology in construction industry is still in infant stage. To improve production efficiency and competitiveness, the industry should speed up the development and application of construction IT. Moreover, the industry must join force with research institutions from universities to carry out research and development work simultaneously.

"The objective of Hong Kong Polytechnic University to establish CCCE at the Department of Building and Real Estate concurs with the road map of VHSoft Technologies Co., Ltd. and the entire Yau Lee Group. Therefore, we have been providing fully support to help CCCE become the Center of Excellence in construction IT."

CCCE is currently conducting several application research projects including online project management system, knowledge based decision-making system and e-commerce solutions.
