VHMonsys assisted Yau Lee Construction winning awards

The latest product developed by VHSoft Technologies, VHMonsys , a mobile workforce monitoring system has been widely applied to various construction sites of the Yau Lee Group. VHMonsys has utilized the latest mobile computing technologies, including smart card and PDA to streamline the construction project management process. The system can store personal profile of individual employee, information of every working party, status of work progress and quality issues of every job into a centralized database. Project administrators can access the database via PDA to check workers' attendance, performance and work progress right on the site, saving much administration time. The system helps to identify problems in advance thus reducing production cost significantly. Furthermore, better allocation of human resource can also be achieved by using the system.

In September 2002, a competition aiming to promote contractors, supervisors and workers who offer outstanding performance and services in public housing estates maintenance work was jointly organized by Hong Kong Housing Authority, Hong Kong Construction Association and Hong Kong Federation of Electrical & Mechanical Contractors. The selection criteria for the winners are classified in eight categories according to different service areas. The best contractor in "estate maintenance" category is selected based not only on excellent performance in quality control, work safety, environmental protection, but also on superb customer service, staff training and information technology application.

After a strict selection process that lasted for over a month, the judging committee finally awarded the Maintenance and Fitting-Out Department of Yau Lee Construction Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of the Yau Lee Group, to win the "Excellent Estate Maintenance Gold Award". Furthermore, two individual Yau Lee team members also won the "Outstanding Supervisor Award" and "Outstanding Worker Award".
