VHSoft Technologies, a Total
IT solutions and services provider, partners with Hewlett-Packard
HK SAR Ltd [HP] in the Supply, Delivery, Installation, Commissioning, Maintenance, Training & Other Related Services of the
Housing Construction Management Enterprise System [HOMES]
for the Hong Kong Housing Authority [HKHA] to implement
a system for enhancing the control and monitoring of construction
projects.
HKHA called for an IT Implementation Plan (ITIP) consultancy
study in March 2002 to formulate a 5-years IT implementation
plan. The study was completed in September 2002. It was
found that despite the existing standalone IT systems are
mostly sufficient or manageable to support the operational
and management needs in the division, integrate business
and IT systems designed for the whole development and construction process in CD are still needed to transform CD to become
an excellence organization with high productivity and quality
capability.
To address these needs, business
process improvement opportunities are identified and potential
IT systems are proposed. Ten IT systems grouped under the
core application suite known as HOMES (Housing Construction
Management Enterprise System) would be jointly developed
by HP and VHSoft, with an aim to streamline processes, improve
workflow, as well as to achieve better system integration
and data sharing, by the adoption and application of new
technology.
