VHSoft
developed EdExchange non-profit online fund raising platform
EdExchange (www.edexchange.org)
provides a non-profit online platform that was established
by The Hong Kong Institute of Education and a number of
civic minded corporations and individuals that aims to bridge
the needs of teachers and students from kindergarten, primary
through secondary with donor's generosity.
There are no restrictions on
the types of projects or the amount of funding requested.
Proposals will be reviewed by the Proposal Review Committee,
comprised of students from The Hong Kong Institute of Education
under the supervision of the Institute's faculty or alumni.
Those proposals that are approved for listing by the Proposal
Review Committee will be listed on the Website.
To the donors, the online system
of EdExchange enables them to find desirable projects by
activity type, school level and the amount of donation they
wish to make. They can also review the details of the proposals,
including their budgets, to decide which ones they want
to support. The entire donation will be used for the projects
they choose. Donors will also receive feedback on the projects
from the reports that the teachers are required to submit
after they receive the funding.
The Permanent Secretary for
Education and Manpower, Mrs Fanny Law, one of the honorable
guests said," there are many individuals and corporations
in Hong Kong who are eager and willing to give back to society
but do not have relevant information to help the groups
in need. EdExchange provides the opportunity for more people
to take part in developing education and promote the standard
of education in Hong Kong."
EdExchange is the first educational
fund raising platform developed by VHSoft Technologies.
Since April 2005, EdExchange has listed over 40 projects
submitted from around 30 schools.
