Current Issues:

1. Foreman will take photo for defect by using digital camera during site supervision. Foreman has to spend a lot of time to classify the location and area of defect of each photo.
2. In the case of lost photo due to lost of memory card and/or digital camera will cause the foreman to conduct the site supervision and take photo for defect one more time. Extra time spent by foreman implies additional cost.
3. Once a safety issue/defect is raised, safety officer /foreman/ will send out the issue log to subcontractor for works verbally or by email. No central platform for the defect photos relating to each issue. Management cannot review the quality of work for each work.
4. Preparing the completion report is time consuming and tedious. Delay in submission of completion report will cause delay in interim payment submission or final bill submission. It will finally affect the cash flow for the project.

• Innovative technique by using smart phone for site supervision and job dispatch can improve the efficiency of work and quality of works. All safety issues can be solved in an effective way.
• Perform site supervision or safety inspection by taking photos on defects.
• Workers can take photo with supplementary written note or voice message at different stages (before works, in progress and completion).
• The defect photos are relating to designated order type (e.g. blue, white, vacant work order for HKHA), location (e.g. estate, block, room), and category (e.g. safety, quality, progress, environmental protection) for each contract. Foreman/worker can select the above information at mobile with ease.
• All defect photos can be sent to the web platform through network or WIFI. It can prevent the case of the lost of photo.
• All users can view all photos at different stages (e.g. before works, in progress and completion) under the classification of work order, order type, location and category in the web platform of VHSmart™. Management can review the quality of works for each work at ease.
• A completion report can be created within a minute. It can save users a lot of time, thus improve efficiency of work. Besides, without delay in submitting the completion report with the interim payment/final bill submission, it can improve the cash flow of the project.
